Bonfire night is officially upon us once again and it’s time to get out the winter woollies, wrap up warm and head to our waterfront for an epic display of colour and light that can be enjoyed from both sides of the river. If you’re heading down to the Albert Dock to get a slice of the action, you’ll be needing somewhere delicious to enjoy a Sunday dinner pre or post firework display and with so many fantastic eateries open at the waterfront, we have the lowdown on where you can get what – because bonfire festivities are definite hungry work!
Lunyalita
If you’re taking your children to see the fireworks, then they can enjoy any tapas meal from the Lunyalita menu with a choice of chips or salad, a soft drink and ice cream for £7.75.
Revolution de Cuba
If you’re looking for some lighter bites to enjoy before or after the display, then Revolution de Cuba have a Cuban tapas deal with 3 plates for £14 available on Sundays. Dishes include cheeseburger tacos, mojito prawns and chorizo croquetas. Additionally, they have just launched a whole new menu brimming with flavoursome mains, including a pork and pineapple burrito (£10), or the vegan friendly black bean and butternut squash chilli (£9.50).
The children’s menu is £5.95 for a main meal, dessert and a soft drink or juice. Choose from chorizo croquettes, vegetable quesadilla, grilled chicken fillets or homemade goujons served with either skinny or sweet potato fries, rice and peas or cucumber and carrot sticks. Desserts include vanilla ice cream or mini churros.
Puffle Waffle
If you’re looking for a sweet treat to eat after (or during) the display, then why not try the latest food craze, bubble waffles. Served from Puffle Waffle next to the Beatle’s Story, these puffed waffle cones are served with an array of mouth-watering fillings and toppings – the perfect sweet treat.
