More Liverpool Farms to Watch for Pumpkin Events in 2026

Acorn Farm, Kirkby

Pots of Magic is taking its ceramic pumpkin painting workshops around Liverpool, Sefton and West Lancashire during September and October, providing a creative alternative to traditional pumpkin picking.
Guests decorate their own ceramic pumpkin to take home, creating something that can be brought out again each autumn rather than carved and discarded.

Worth the Journey: Tulleys Pumpkin Festival
Location: Turners Hill, West Sussex
This is certainly not a Liverpool day trip, but for serious pumpkin enthusiasts planning an autumn weekend elsewhere in the UK, Tulleys deserves a mention.
Tulleys describes its Pumpkin Festival as Europe’s largest pumpkin festival, turning the traditional farm visit into a substantial autumn event with enormous pumpkin displays, fields, street food, bars, roaming live music and elaborate installations.
Its daytime festival returns from September 2026, while Pumpkin Nights offers an after-dark version designed more for adults, couples and older visitors.
If you are travelling south during autumn or fancy building a weekend around one of the UK’s biggest pumpkin events, this is very different from the smaller farm patches closer to Liverpool.
Best for: Autumn weekends, adults and older teenagers, and anyone who wants a festival-style pumpkin experience.
An Autumn Day Trip to Haworth
Location: Haworth, West Yorkshire
Drive from Liverpool: Around 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours
Haworth may not be a pumpkin-picking farm, but it deserves a place in any wider autumn guide.
Its famous cobbled Main Street becomes particularly atmospheric during September and October, when independent shops, cafés and pubs begin introducing pumpkins, foliage and candlelight to their displays.
One of the loveliest places to stop is The Hawthorn, an intimate Georgian pub and dining room set directly on Main Street.

Wellies are rarely a bad idea.
Pumpkin fields are working farmland and October rain can turn even apparently firm ground into mud remarkably quickly.

- Clothes you do not mind getting muddy
If you are taking younger children, a sturdy all-terrain pushchair will usually cope better than a lightweight stroller.

Are Pumpkin Patches Pram and Wheelchair Friendly?
Accessibility varies considerably between farms.
