Liverpool loves to re-cycle, up-cycle and to give a new lease of life to old furniture, so the Frenchic chalk paint Liverpool event was a huge success.

Frenchic Liverpool

As an eco-friendly paint brand, Frenchic held a fantastic crafty event in Liverpool last week with Founder Pam Gruhn and Brand Ambassador & TV Presenter Max McMurdo. Designed to teach Liverpool how to decoupage and up-cycle, Unlock Liverpool were kindly invited along to try out our skills at all things shabby chic.

An afternoon full of Frenchic crafting, at the Frenchic Chalk Paint Liverpool Event,  we listened intently to the team, so excited to get our hands on a paintbrush! We’ve always fancied buying old furniture and doing it up but we’ve just not had the time or the know how,  but after popping along to several of Frenchic’s drop-in workshops we’re more confident than ever. Plus this paint is environmentally friendly too, so it ticks all the boxes and won’t leave a strong odour. It’s even safe to use on children’s furniture and in a nursery so if you’re thinking of painting your little one’s room or furniture with this brand, you can paint away happy.

From painting forgotten furniture in beautiful pastel shades, to creating unique bird boxes using the decoupage technique, the possibilities are truly endless. These days, we want to save the environment and re-use rather than throw away, so having the skills to make old or unused furniture into mini masterpieces is invaluable. It’s no wonder this brand is so loved worldwide. It’s also a fantastic way of spending quality time together as a family especially in a time of iPads and Instagram.

As we finished making our last craft at the Frenchic Chalk Paint Liverpool Event , we realised just how quickly time had flown by. With such a wonderful team behind this event, we had a fantastic time getting crafty and learning a whole range of new techniques that we’re going to try out at home.

Doing something such as painting, crafting or up-cycling and using your imagination to create beautiful things,  really is therapeutic and helps improve mental health. You can also make some stunning pieces of furniture that will give your home a whole new look without costing you an arm and a leg. In fact, Frenchic chalk paint can cost as little as £6.95. We particularly like their Lazy Range which is totally unique chalk and mineral paint with a wax infusion. This is self-priming, self leveling and self sealing with no odour and ensures a high-quality finish with minimal effort.

You can pick up a tin of Frenchic chalk paint from Larks, on Lark Lane in Liverpool, or from GASP Vintage Warehouse, Shabby Freak or even from Bootle Tool Shed. So what are you waiting for Liverpool…get your craft on!
