A Christmas Break at Staycity Liverpool

It’s the time of year where parties are in full swing, drunken office do’s are a-go and generally, Liverpool City Centre is absolutely buzzing with the spirit of Christmas. Of course, with good times also comes crowds and with crowds come delayed trains and taxi’s of gold dust, so why not take away the worry of getting home and rent a centrally located, brand new apartment with a bangin’ breakfast buffet? Don’t mind if we do!

Staycity Corn Exchange is a brand new Aparthotel venue located perfectly in the castle street/business district area of town, walking distance to all of the city’s main attractions, including our waterfront. No matter what you want to do in our city, whether you’re a local looking for somewhere to stay that’s close to all the best bars and restaurants or whether you’re a visitor to our city and want to stay somewhere conveniently located as you explore everything Liverpool has to offer, you’ll find an amazing option in Staycity Corn Exchange.

We chose a Friday night to stay at Staycity and couldn’t wait for our own little apartment, right in the city centre. If you didn’t already know, Staycity Corn Exchange is a renovated office block, with the interior of the lobby paying homage to the grandeur of Castle and Water street buildings; think marble and large staircases but with a contemporary, bright and fun twist that is true to Statcity’s image. We were given our keys to the 8th floor, and set sail in the lift.

The first thing to notice about Staycity is how clean and new everything seemed and walking into our apartment, we realised the rooms were no exception. A spacious room complete with large double bedroom, a modern style bathroom and a kitchen/living area complete with oven/hob/fridge/kettle and TV- all of the essentials you’d need. Although a lot was packed into a small room, Staycity had cleverly utilised the space so that it still felt airy and super spacious with a large window next to the sofa, displaying a perfect view of a distant Anglican Cathedral. We were stocked up with tea bags and milk and Champagne glasses were also brought to our room.

Being Christmas and all, we wanted a small something to enjoy in the room and it took 5 minutes to nip to the well stocked bar downstairs for a Prosecco mini and bring it upstairs. Perfect.

After the best night’s sleep in a king size bed complete with countless pillows and a super squashy duvet it was time to wake up and (quite literally) smell the coffee. Check out wasn’t until 11am and breakfast was served until 12. Our breakfast menu was left in our room so we had a quick look at what we could expect and priced at £7.95 you really couldn’t argue. Wandering downstairs we were met with a small but perfectly formed dining area showcasing a large selection of cereals, meats, cheeses, pastries and even an egg boiling station – everything you could want from a continental selection. We had plenty to eat but also had the option to order something hot from the menu. Although we had plenty of self catering facilities in the apartment, this buffet breakfast was the perfect end to our stay.

With newly refurbished apartments, amazing facilities and a fantastic proximity to the city centre, Staycity should definitely be your next accommodation of choice when it comes to stay in Liverpool City Centre, whether that’s during Christmas or as a treat for the new year. Go on, you deserve it.
