Delifonseca is set to host its annual Burns Night event on Friday, January 25, which will see the Dockside eatery paying homage to famous Scotch poet Robert Burns.
The Brunswick Quay eatery will be serving up a three-course menu aptly cooked up to feature traditional Scottish delicacies from Haggis to Stovies.
To mark the occasion, diners can claim a complementary dram of whisky by simply donning their tartan and showing up in a kilt to embrace the evening’s celebrations.
Restaurant Manager at Delifonseca Tom Ford said: “In honour of Burns Night, Delifonseca will be hosting its own Scottish-inspired feast as we raise a wee dram to Robert Burns, and what’s more, those that opt to wear a kilt for the occasion will receive a free tipple on arrival.
“For those that really want to get in to the spirit of things our drinks menu includes a fantastic selection of scotch whisky from tried and trusted single malts to innovative new blends. With this in mind, we encourage all foodie-lovers to join us for an evening of merriments and celebrate in the best way possible – with plenty of food and drink.”
To start, guests can opt for the likes of Cock-a-Leekie Rillette with Prune Compote or Scottish Scallops with Pea Puree & Black Pudding before tucking in to the main course. Dishes include Stovies (Slow Braised Beef in Scottish Ale with Roasted Root Vegetables & Pickled Mussels) or Sautéed Venison Haunch with Kale Barlotto, Roasted Root Vegetables & Red Wine Jus.
Proprietor of Delifonseca Candice Fonseca said: “Featuring some of the best quality Scottish produce, our chefs have given these traditional dishes a modern twist for an unforgettable dining experience. For Haggis lovers, the classic dish features as both a starter and a main course, whilst vegetarians can tuck into Chef Martin Cooper’s signature meat-free version.
“Sweet-toothed diners are in for a treat this Burns Night with the likes of Bitter Chocolate Tart, Cranachan and the controversial Deep-Fried Mars Bar with Cheshire Farm Vanilla Ice Cream gracing our menu for one night only. If those sound too sweet, then we have a great Scottish Cheese Board to complete your night.”
Delifonseca’s Burns Night menu is priced at £30 per person and is available exclusively on Friday, January 25 from 5pm. Bookings between 5pm and 6.30pm will also include a complementary dram of whisky.
