The Dock’s floating cinema returns with a spooky Halloween line-up.  Having enjoyed a hugely positive response and sell-out success with its summer launch at Royal Albert Dock Liverpool, Liverpool’s first floating cinema will be returning to the Dock with a series of spooky screenings for Halloween, taking place from 24th October-1st November. Heaters will be situated on the pontoon to minimise the Autumn chill with Albert Dock blankets also available, whether it’s to snuggle under or hide behind. The cinematic experience will be complete with atmospheric festoon lighting and an over-head canopy, along with the option of beanbags or deckchairs for a comfortable viewing.

The Halloween Pop-up Cinema, which is in association with Independent Liverpool, invites children and adults to enjoy their favourite scary films on a floating pontoon, with refreshments provided by a diverse selection of Dockside bars and restaurants.

Two to three film screenings will be shown per day at the cinema club, with more family-friendly movies during the day such as Casper, Hocus Pocus and Beetlejuice. On Halloween itself on Thursday 31st October, children will also be encouraged to get into the spirit and dig out their spookiest costumes to wear whilst Hocus Pocus plays on the big screen, to be in with a chance of winning a special Albert Dock prize for the best dressed.

On Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th October there will be two inclusive relaxed screenings from 10am-1pm, showing Casper and Hocus Pocus. These screenings have been adapted to people with additional needs, with no trailers, less bright screens and played at a quieter volume. During the evening showings, horror fanatics can enjoy a hair-raising experience with a variety of terrifying films and cult classics. From Blair Witch Project and Psycho, to Nightmare on Elm Street and Paranormal Activity, guests will be in for a fright-filled evening, with the atmospheric surroundings of the Dock adding to the unique and spine-chilling experience.

Clare Rawlinson, Head of Marketing for the Dock comments, “After such an overwhelming response to the launch of the floating cinema during summer, we’re excited to ramp up the fearfactor and bring the pop-up back for Halloween. It’s a one of a kind in Liverpool, and the versatility of the Dock makes it the perfect setting for the Halloween cinema, with a number of restaurants to choose from for dining before or after”. For more information on the full line-up and when tickets will go on sale on Skiddle, keep an eye on Albert Dock’s website and social media channels. Tickets are priced at £8 for children and £14 for adults
