Boxpark Ice Skating Liverpool 

BOXPARK ice skating rink in Liverpool is a pop-up rink open from Friday, November 22nd, to Sunday, January 5th. 

The Ice Box skating rink will be located opposite the BOXPARK in the Baltic Triangle and the BOXPARK will be hosting lots of festive events and entertainment with drinks like mulled wine to enjoy pre or post-skate.

Planet Ice

Planet Ice has a few different locations, one of them is at Widnes in Cheshire and the other one is at Altrincham in Manchester.

The ice rink is open to all levels, with memberships and lessons available, and there are lots of Christmas events such as Christmas Day Skating, Skate and Spot Santa, Christmas performances like Aladdin, and more.

Tinsel Town Trafford Centre 

Tinseltown is back at the Trafford Centre. The funfair holds ice skating sessions throughout November and December at different times of the day. There are also lots of rides, games, and seasonal food and drinks.

Blackpool Pleasure 

Pleasure Beach Arena at Blackpool is the oldest purpose-built ice theatre in the world and has public skating throughout the whole year. There’s a Santa’s grotto nearby for Christmas and a Snow White-themed event as well as other events at this time of year.

Skate Manchester

From the 8th of November to the 1st of January, Skate Manchester is holding The Big Festive Freeze ice rink at Cathedral Gardens. There is a Christmas Market nearby selling festive food and drinks to keep you energised too!

Chill Factore 

Chill Factore isn’t an ice skating rink but does offer indoor skiing and snowboarding for some festive winter sports. 

There are private/group lessons, family snow fun and more, plus, a lodge cafe and bar onsite. The slopes are open from 10 am to 10 pm and have events such as freestyle features and moguls.

Silver Blades Ice Rink Altrincham

Open 7 days a week is Silver Blades ice rink at Altrincham in Manchester. It is open to the public for skating sessions and holds lessons, private events and regular ice hockey events.

Deeside Ice Rink, Queensferry Wales 

Deeside Leisure Centre has an Olympic-sized ice pad and caters for a variety of ice sports and events such as ice hockey, general public ice skating, curling and disco nights. 

There are skate lessons and aids available to hire as well as a rink-side snack bar, it’s only a 30-40 minute drive from Liverpool too!

Christmas By The Sea, Blackpool

Blackpool’s Tower Festival Headland gets transformed into a winter wonderland each year at Christmas. Converted into a festive cabin village, it is complete with an outdoor skating rink, simulated snowfalls, festive fair rides, light projections and more. 

It takes place between the 15th of November to the 5th of January and is perfect if you’re after a more festive-themed ice skating session, making it worth the one-hour drive.

Bolesworth Castle Ice Skating, Tattenhall, Chester

Just a 50-minute drive from Liverpool is Tattenhall near Chester where you will find Bolesworth Castle featuring a 240m² real ice rink with a festive light trail to enjoy at Christmas. 

You can also indulge in festive food and drinks, visit Santa’s grotto, and have fun at the festive fairground. It takes place from the 1st to the 31st of December.

Lancaster On Ice 

If you’re up for driving an hour and a half away to Lancaster, Lancaster On Ice set in Dalton Square holds an ice rink around the festive period every year. This ice rink is open from the 23rd of November to January 5th 2025. 

There are Christmas stalls and a tipi bar alongside the ice rink to enjoy as well as a big wheel funfair ride.
