At 33 weeks pregnant, here’s why we choose to have a Liverpool baby moon at the Halyard Hotel.
There’s something incredibly special about the weeks leading up to your baby’s arrival. The excitement, the nerves, the nesting, the planning, it all blends together into this whirlwind of emotion. As much as you can’t wait to meet your little one, you also realise how precious these final moments of calm are with your partner.
That’s exactly why we decided to book a Baby Moon, not abroad, not far away, but right here in Liverpool. And honestly, it turned out to be one of the most grounding, emotionally comforting decisions we made in the third trimester.
Choosing The Halyard: A Calm Little Haven in the Heart of the City
We stayed at The Halyard at Ropewalks, a stylish new addition to Liverpool’s hotel scene, and from the second we stepped inside, it felt like the right place to be. As a mum-to-be, especially in the later stages of pregnancy, comfort and convenience matter more than anything.

What drew us in immediately were three things:
-
Voyagers, the onsite restaurant (a pregnancy win — no long walks or late-night taxis needed)
-
The location, a gentle stroll from Liverpool ONE
-
The atmosphere, which felt peaceful and luxurious without being intimidating
For anyone in their third trimester, this blend of ease and comfort is invaluable. You don’t want to feel rushed, stretched, or stressed. You want calm. And that’s exactly what The Halyard delivered.
Our Beautiful Suite: A Space to Breathe Before Life Changes Forever
Walking into our suite felt like a deep exhale. It was spotless, beautifully designed, and filled with natural light — exactly the kind of space where you instantly feel at ease.

The king-sized bed was enormous and unbelievably comfortable, perfect for those nights when getting cosy is becoming more of a challenge. And then there was the balcony — our favourite part of the whole stay.

From there, Liverpool spread out beneath us:
The Radio City Tower standing proudly
Paddy’s Wigwam glowing softly in the evening light
The Liver Building, timeless and iconic
It was a reminder of how beautiful this city can look, especially when you finally allow yourself to slow down long enough to appreciate it.
Shopping for Baby’s First Little Outfits
Being so close to Liverpool ONE was a godsend. Walking distance matters when you’re carrying a little human, and the last thing you want is unnecessary effort.
We wandered into The White Company to browse their newborn collection, and it honestly felt emotional picking up those tiny sleepsuits. There’s something surreal about choosing clothes your baby will wear in their very first weeks of life.
We lingered over soft fabrics, neutral colours, and those adorable tiny sizes that make everything suddenly feel real.
These quiet, sweet moments, hand in hand, imagining your baby — are the ones that stay with you.
An Evening at Liverpool’s Christmas Market
As it began to get dark, we wrapped up warm and made the short journey to the Liverpool Christmas Market, located at St George’s Plateau and William Brown Street (L1 1JJ).
Liverpool Christmas Market 2025
15 Nov – 24 Dec
11am – 10pm daily
There’s something magical about visiting the market while pregnant. The lights feel brighter, the smells richer, and the cosy atmosphere hits differently when you’re in full nesting mode.
We walked slowly, taking it all in — the festive stalls, the music, the decorations — feeling connected, excited, and just really present with each other.
Dinner at Voyagers: A Beautiful Meal Without the Stress
We returned to Voyagers for dinner, and it was perfect. Their menu revolves around small plates, which meant we got to try a little bit of everything without feeling overwhelmed.
And the highlight?
Their non-alcoholic sparkling wine, honestly delicious, and it made me feel included in the celebration rather than like I was missing out.
There was something really intimate about enjoying a slow meal, knowing that soon our evenings would look very different, bottles, naps, and night-feeds instead of sparkling drinks and small plates.

When you slow down, rediscovering Liverpool becomes magical, almost romantic.
Final Thoughts: Every Liverpool Mum Deserves This
Our Baby Moon at The Halyard reminded us that you don’t need to travel across the world to feel pampered, reconnected, and calm. Sometimes the most meaningful getaways are the ones right on your doorstep.
As Liverpool mums-to-be, we spend so much time preparing for birth, planning essentials, and worrying about what’s to come — but taking time to rest, reflect, and enjoy being a couple before everything changes is incredibly important.
If you’re considering a Baby Moon, especially in the third trimester, a Liverpool staycation at The Halyard is one of the most relaxing, heartfelt choices you can make.
