The Butterfly and The Grasshopper Liverpool

The Butterfly and The Grasshopper Liverpool offers delicious food and a magical setting in a traditional local pub.

The Butterfly and The Grasshopper Liverpool

In the heart of Liverpool, the pub sits just on the corner of Renshaw and Oldham Street. Formerly known as The Roscoe Arms, the nineteeth century building has been recently renovated to a high standard, merging the old with the new. From the outside, it just looks like your average pub. However, the second you set foot inside, you instantly feel like you’re in a trendy, modern bar.

With themed wallpaper, unique artwork and excellent service, this restaurant
really is a hidden gem. Spread across three floors, the pub offers a range of iconic seating. If you’re after a drink with some friends from work, the bar downstairs is your best bet. It’s buzzing and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, with bar staff going out of their way to show you the extensive drinks menu. Our personal favourite was the strawberry gin!

If you’re having a quiet drink or sit down meal with a friend, the top floor provides a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere. With hanging plants, and three smaller seating areas, this is a hidden gem that we will definitely visit again. Our pictures of this floor speak for themselves. What’s not to love?

The food we tasted during our visit to The Butterfly and The Grasshopper Liverpool  was absolutely sensational. Their new menu is delightful, with a range of options, including vegan. We tried the rib eye steak and cauliflower steak for our mains, which were accompanied by mashed potato and garlic bread. The food was mouth-wateringly good. The desserts were extra special – we chose the chocolate brownie and homemade sticky toffee pudding. They are not to be missed – make sure you save room for desserts!
