The Late Wake Club at The Camp and Furnace

There’s a massive new tribute club night coming to Liverpool this November!

The Camp and Furnace in the Baltic Triangle have announced the launch of a series of large-scale monthly music tribute events celebrating the lives and talents of iconic artists who are no longer with us.

The Late Wake Club kicks off on Saturday 25th November, with the larger-than-life Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, as the first artist to be covered.

In Camp and Furnace’s usual left-field style of own-brand events, which includes the phenomenal Bongo’s Bingo, the Greenland Street venue’s latest offering is based on a traditional wake party, and will include DJs playing all of the artists’ best known hits, as well as some of their musical influences.

As a mark of respect to Freddie, club-goers will receive a free moustache on entry, and can complete their outfits with fancy dress available around the venue, as well as glittering up in the Jazzification Station.

Bespoke cocktails and drinks will be created in honour of Freddie, including the appropriately named ‘Bohemian Raspberry.’
A boozy tea will also be served in best china – and the venue will be putting on a spread for clubbers with a free finger buffet for all ticket holders!

Guests are even invited to leave their own messages, tributes and favourite memories in a special book of condolences devoted to the night’s artists.
A spokesperson for the venue commented:
“The Late Wake Club celebrates the lives of iconic artists who’s music has played a huge part in all our of lives. Whilst it’s based on the idea of a wake, it’s not about being sad – it’s an opportunity for music lovers to pay homage to their heroes and heroines in a fitting and fun way, with a night especially dedicated to their achievements.
A brand new idea, we’ve been working on the concept of The Late Wake Club on for a long time – we’re very excited about it and know that Camp and Furnace customers will love it.”
As well as the inaugural Freddie Mercury launch event, parties celebrating the works of David Bowie and Amy Winehouse are already being planned.

Tickets for The Late Wake Club are on sale now and are expected to sell out quickly – they’re available from www.campandfurnace.com
