LEAF Events in November & December

As much as the team at LEAF love creating and serving their delicious food and drink with their exquisite attention to detail, they also have as big a passion for live music, events, and the arts. Bringing people together is in the DNA of LEAF, for gigs, talks, book launches, and poetry to their artisanal markets.

Easing back into the events world since the tail end of the summer has seen the momentum build further into the tail end of the year with Christmas coming fast. There are some brilliant live music and talks taking place at LEAF on Bold Street, following on from recent guests including Nick Ellis.

LEAF Events– Bold Street

Monday 15th November sees the sensational folk singer Bess Atwell come to LEAF with Harvest Sun. She is a young singer and songwriter from Brighton whose ethereal vocals and sweeping guitar-led melodies inform her timeless music. Her debut album  Already, Always marks her as one of the freshest voices of her generation. Support comes from Eve Owen.

Then Harvest Sun is at it again with The Dears on Thursday 25th Nov. Their guests are a Canadian indie rock band from Montreal whose eighth album Lovers Rock is their latest grand opus imbued with themes of isolation and survival.

Bristol singer-songwriter Fenne Lily visits on Sunday 28th  November. Her 2nd  album Breach conveys the harsh realities and poses existential questions to create a stunning record that is as relatable as it is profound.

Next up, Violette Societa presents their unique take on music, poetry, visuals on November 29th.  Nev Cottee headliner and is one of Britain’s great unsung vocalists, with a deep, dark timbre and sixties slant that recalls prime-era Cohen or Hazlewood. He’s joined by Tigers & Flies, Geoffrey Allerton, and Lydia McDonnell.

Tuesday, December 7th is an In Discussion special with Barry Adamson. Born in the black and white world of post-industrial Manchester, Adamson saw music as a chance to turn his world technicolor. Propelled into punk via Magazine, he was the founding bass player in Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds before stumbling too far down a dark, drug-induced path. The evening promises to be revelatory.

And Pudding club is back Tuesday, Nov 16th – 5 delicious desserts are carefully paired with complementary loose leaf teas in a feast for pudding lovers.

LEAF Events – West Kirby

LEAF West Kirby’s famous Tuesday Challenge quiz is back every Tuesday from 7 pm and costs £2 to enter. LEAF Events – Smithdown Road

The Thursday Challenge is LEAF Smithdown’s weekly mind and matter session. Tricky

subjects, curveballs puzzlers, and some screamingly obvious questions feature in this test of the grey matter. A LEAF voucher prize awaits the winner. 8 pm start and £2 entry per person.
