Written by Helen Redcliffe, the show promises a vibrant mix of music, humour, romance and self-discovery, all performed under the summer sky in one of the North West’s most-loved outdoor theatre spaces.
For Liverpool audiences looking for a summer theatre trip, Chester makes an easy day or evening out, with Grosvenor Park just a short walk from the city centre.
What is Let The Sun Shine about?
Set in the summer of 1969, Let The Sun Shine takes audiences to a quiet village that is about to be changed forever.
When a colourful music festival arrives, the village is suddenly filled with free spirits, flower children and larger-than-life festival-goers. At the centre of the story is Harry, a small-town dreamer who longs for a bigger life beyond the family business.
As the festival unfolds, Harry discovers friendship, first love and his own voice. But before he can chase his dreams, he must persuade his traditional father to let him step away from the life expected of him.
The show also introduces a lively cast of characters, including Puck, a mysterious seller of dreams, Joan, who discovers it is never too late for a second chance, and Sonny and Claire, who bring the audience interaction to life.
