Roll Up, Roll Up – Spectaculum Comes to Liverpool

Ladies and Gentlemen ! Roll up, roll up, the carnival has come to town and is now open in
residence at Cain’s Brewery Village with the arrival of Albus Wolfgang’s ‘Spectaculum’. Join in the fun where you’ll be able to release your inner child and enjoy all the thrill of the
circus as you revel in classic carnival games including Hook-a-Duck, Ring Toss, Passe Boule,Tin Can Alley and everyone’s favorite – the Coconut Shy!

Full of old style carnival games, popcorn machines, hook a duck and just all things plain outrageous, Spectaculum has launched in our very own Cains Brewery and you’d be a fool to miss out! We were lucky enough to be invited down to the totally wacky launch party to try out the brand new venue for ourselves. Whilst we’re struggling to put into words just how weird and wonderful our experience at Spectaculum was, it’s safe to say that everyone, yes, everyone must pay a visit.

The fantastic Parliament St, just outside Cains Brewery and right in front of all time favourite, Ghetto Golf, has undergone a spectacular makeover just in time for Christmas festivities, with the entire outdoor seating area now under a circus style tent cover which beholds all manner of craziness, experienced from the minute we stepped through the door. Greeted by a circus member, we walked through the carnival, stopping to see crazy performers, rotating children (don’t ask) and even a jar full of genitals we were immediately asked to sniff. Yes, really.

The amazing new venue contains an abundance of carnival style games that you can try your hand at winning, including classics such as Hook a Duck and Higher or Lower – you can even try your hand at the coconut shy after a few drinks  – although we must warn you, the results aren’t great.

As well as cocktails from the ice cream van and paper bags of toffee goodness from the cocktail cart, we also dug into beef brisket balls, deep fried lasagne bites and everyone’s fave, Halloumi fries, all from the fantastic Apocalypse cow, which will be open during Spectaculum for your street food fix.

If you’re looking for somewhere to go for a group Christmas party, or even just a date night with a twist, do not hesitate to enter the world of Spectaculum – you may never come out, but it will be sure worth the ride!
