Sampling the Menu at Around the World Liverpool

Located next door to the infamous Bierkeller, Around the World Liverpool is a laidback sports bar with a wide variety of food and drink choices, making it the perfect place to while away an afternoon after a spell of Liverpool One shopping or somewhere to start your evening as you get ready to delve straight into Liverpool’s nightlife.

As well as an extensive choice behind the bar, Around the World has a menu that takes inspiration from cuisine from, yep, you guessed it, Around the World, leaving plenty of fantastic choice for the hungry customer. From the spicy delights of Mexico to the hearty offerings of Germany and the fragrant flavours of Asia, there’s something to tickle every taste bud, at any time of the day.

Organised by the lovely Katy from the Lilac Scrapbook, Unlock Liverpool were invited down to the blogger’s event to not only sample some delicious food but also meet some other fantastic Liverpool bloggers. The bench style seating was just perfect for the occasion and the super-attentive staff had a glass of wine in my hand before I could barely remove my coat – something much-appreciated after a super long Monday. We were generously told that we could pick anything from their lunchtime menu as well as two tapas dishes from their small plates options, meaning our bench was soon filled with dish after dish of delicious food, with hungry bloggers getting a quick snap before digging in. I went for the chicken quesadillas which were accompanied by a huge helping of creamy, melted cheese and pots of sour cream and guacamole for dipping. The flavours of the quesadilla’s were spot on with a hint of spice coating the chicken filling (there was a choice of chicken or steak) and a smoky paprika twist heating up my side salad. Along with the quesadillas, I chose the lightly battered but oh so crisp tempura prawns and a pot of sweet chilli to dip as well as the baked humous, accompanied with a healthy portion of homemade tortillas for dipping, of course.

The humous was the standout dish for myself, as well as others around the table as we all sat in amazement at how humous could be baked, agreeing that dipping crispy tortillas into warm, flavourful humous was definitely revolutionary.

After more than enough good food and drinks and plenty of interesting chat, it was time to call it a night. If you’re ever wondering where to eat in Liverpool, definitely consider Around the World – a delicious selection of great value food, fantastic hospitality and the perfect location to explore the rest of the city!
