The World Museum Liverpool Review

We sent a family to The World Museum Liverpool to see why it’s such a great place to take the kids during the summer holidays. Here’s how they got on;

I love summer and I love Liverpool, but you just can’t trust the Liverpool weather in summer. Luckily our fabulous city has so much to do with a young family, even if it is chucking it down outside. This Saturday was one such day, so the four of us headed off to one of our favourite places, The World Museum on William Brown Street.

The kids know this museum well, having been regulars since they were babies. They never seem to get bored of it though, especially as there is usually something new to see. Teddy has always loved the aquarium here, so was delighted that it has now reopened after some
renovations. As always, he had a good chat to the common lobster, was mesmerized by the moon jellyfish and loved spotting the starfish. We’re all very excited by the new Turtle tank and can’t wait to go back and see them. Find out more about the Aquarium in Liverpool.

Anyone who has chatted to Bea recently, knows that she’s a big fan of space. Her number one request for the summer holidays is to see all of the shows at the Planetarium. So she was both delighted and in awe of the Astronomy Photographer of the Year exhibition, which is there until the 1st of September. The photos were amazing and the space was so calming and well planned out, even Teddy had a little chill on the seats. Find out more about the Planetarium in Liverpool.
We stayed for lunch which was a first for us. The kids both had sausage, chips and beans while I had Scouse and Jamie had fish and chips. I’m happy to report that we were very impressed. Good sized portions, enough choice of both hot and cold food and helpful, friendly staff. The food was both tasty and freshly prepared. Earlier on we had made use of the picnic area which was handy for snack time. We loved our day and look forward to going to The World Museum Liverpool again very soon.
