A brand new family run restaurant has opened on Castle Street in Liverpool with a range of dishes influenced by the family’s Sicilian, British and Jordanian background and their love of travel. Heritage on Castle Street has opened its doors to Liverpool foodies and we were lucky enough to be invited down to taste some of their vegan, organic and vegetarian dishes.
Heritage on Castle Street is a proud family run restaurant and has all the charm to go with it. The decor inside the restaurant has been inspired by the beauty of the Ibiza countryside and instantly gives the interior a chilled vibe. With scatter cushions, cork board style flooring, and pretty wooden tables, the restaurant has been decorated with beautiful pieces of artwork made by one of the restaurant’s directors, Antonia.
“We are delighted with the feedback from customers so far, and are excited about continuing to serve fresh, home-made food, as well as delicious cocktails. We invite you to join us for brunch, lunch or dinner and enjoy a cocktail or two at our bar which is open till late, the next time you’re in Liverpool. ” Director Antonia.
The staff at Heritage are extremely welcoming and ooze a calm and attentive style. This and the design of this intimate Liverpool restaurant makes Heritage a great place to pop by and grab a bite to eat during your lunch hour, or to enjoy an early dinner and a couple of glasses of their organic red wine. With USB charging points located both at the bar and at almost every table, Heritage is also a fantastic city-center venue to work from, or hold a business meeting.
The food, where possible, is locally and organically sourced and there are vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options to choose from on their seasonal menu. In fact, even the wine list features organic drinks and we decided to choose a gorgeous Sicilian number to pair with our meal. To start, we were tempted by the Snowdonia Black Bomber Cheese Croquettes, followed by a vegetarian main course of flat bread topped with spiced squash, beet-root, peppers and tahini dressing, all freshly prepared by Sous Chef Jay Brown.
To finish, I couldn’t resist the sticky toffee pudding soaked in toffee sauce and with a generous helping of ice cream, and I can honestly say I couldn’t even bring myself to share it. It really was THAT delicious. Humble as it looks, you will be pining for more we guarantee.
We want to say a massive thank you to Antonia and your team for inviting us to dine at Heritage. The food was on point, service with a smile and such an incredible location- we will be back very soon!
