4 Days of fresh air, turbulent weather and a line-up to die for, we have experienced the Liverpool International Music Festival like never before. Kicking off with full force on Thursday, LIMF 2017 has entertained a remarkable number of scousers over the weekend with a range of live performances set in the heart of Sefton Park.
On Saturday, the Unlock Liverpool team headed to Sefton Park, in Aigburth. On the drive down, we experienced what we can only describe as a torrential downpour, leaving the Albert Dock and Liverpool One as a fully fledged river, but to our surprise, as we approached Lark Lane, it was clear that as if by an act of God, Sefton Park had avoided the rain and was basking in the July sun.

After checking in with LIMF’s press team, we made our way to the VIP area which was only metres away from centre stage. For those of you who were clever enough to upgrade to VIP, I think you made a seriously good choice there, as your view of the stage was completely unrestricted, and there was more than enough space to dance around as the one and only Jax Jones got ready to perform behind his set cereal bowl decks.
This guy has a hell of a stage presence and throughout his gig would take the opportunity to shoot a couple of t-shirts into the crowd, which as you can imagine drove the vast majority of girls wild with excitement.

Performing some of his latest hits, Jax Jones made it unbelievably irresistible to not jump up and down especially when the beat dropped. Playing with the crowd, Jax told us all to get low…waiting on that sick beat to drop….
Gorgon City Headline at LIMF
Taking over from the talented Jax Jones, headliners Gorgon City took to the stage in front of thousands of Liverpool fans to perform a number of their UK hits. The UK EDM duo captured the crowd’s attention as they started slow, with two artists and finished with their UK hit Ready For My Love.

Finishing on a high with a burst of confetti, Gorgon City were a truly incredible headlining act for Liverpool International Music Festival 2017 and we just can’t wait for next year!! Coming on leaps and bounds from the former Mathew Street Festival, this fresh version of the festival is not to be reckoned with. With huge investment into the lineup and the quality of each performance, we still can’t believe that this is FREE to the public. We all know the saying, the best things in life are free but this is taking that to a whole new level.
