As soon as a woman has got a diamond gleaming on her finger, the manic planning has already begun. A wedding not only requires months of flicking through bridal magazines, attending countless wedding fairs and spending hours worrying about flowers, dresses and diets, it also includes the make or break decisions of selecting the right venue, dress, colour scheme, hair and makeup artist and of course entertainment for the big day. Liverpool offers brides-to-be some of the most talented and bespoke wedding services and products in the UK, with a vast array of choices, a bride will be beaming with the opportunity to have an elegant, sophisticated Liverpool wedding, of her dreams.
The Liverpool Wedding Show
The first step for any bride is to browse. Attending a wedding show is the first crucial step to understanding what exactly you want and what trends are going to be in style on your special day. Grab your bridesmaids and of course your mum and if you’re brave enough your mother-in-law and hit The Liverpool Wedding Show, which takes place this year on the 10th and 11th of September at the Exhibition centre, brought to us by the experts at Bliss Wedding Shows.
As you wander around the many stalls, you can sample, explore and enjoy figuring out your perfect colour scheme, along with potential entertainment ideas and those finer details that will elevate your day above any other.
Something Old- St George’s Hall
In its majestic and historic form, St. George’s Hall offers a truly glamorous and bespoke wedding venue that will beautifully tie in with the tradition to have something old on your wedding day. Dating back to 1854, this city centre venue will make a stunning backdrop to your wedding pictures.
The red carpet will be rolled out to lead the way to an elegant drinks reception before you make your way into the glamorous concert room, which Charles Dickens himself once proclaimed is ‘the most perfect hall in the world’. For a fabulous £850, you can hire the concert hall, with a red carpet entrance, two side rooms for the bride to change and for you to accommodate entertainment or catering. You also have the freedom to decorate the concert hall to your specific taste.
As a licenced venue you have the choice of being wed in the more intimate concert hall or the decadent Great Hall which can accommodate 500 guests. When you see the Great Hall for yourself, you can understand why it costs approximately £5,000 to hire for a full day and night. The hall can be effortlessly transformed into an aisle with seating and live music for you to declare your love to one another and then into a 500 guest dining room for an impossibly chic reception which includes a dance floor and stage. In fact, the sheer size and beauty of this iconic venue recently attracted the attention of the official film crew of the Harry Potter prequel, JK Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts.

A Flawless Bride- MUA Jessica Masri
One of the last services a bride tends to book is a professional make-up artist. It is so important to make sure you are going to book someone who is highly skilled, professional and will enhance your natural features rather than layer on thick, heavy makeup.
‘A bride should be flawless. She should make heads turn when she enters the room.’ Jessica MUA is a professional makeup artist, who has over 5 years of experience tending to nervous brides-to-be in Liverpool. Jessica has also travelled internationally, working on high-fashion photo shoots. She believes a bride should feel like one million dollars on her wedding day and encourages brides to take up a consultation before the big day. This ensures your make-up is perfect and matches your dress, colour scheme and most importantly your skin tone.
