Liverpool prepares itself for the official launch of The Pier Head Village on Friday the 30th of June. For 11 weeks of summer, The Pier Head Village will offer families in Liverpool, a place to have fun, enjoy live music and be entertained right on Liverpool’s iconic waterfront. For those who are a little more adventurous, The Pier Head Village will be the home to three of Europe’s tallest and most thrilling adrenaline rides. Forget about 2016’s Sky Flier, The Pier Head Village has an even bigger version this summer alongside a 60m Booster and a 60m Tower which are guaranteed to set pulses racing, so if you’re brave enough head down in July.

What: Comedian Micky Flanagan

Micky Flanagan, one of the UK’s biggest and most loved comedians is coming to the Liverpool Echo Arena. Bringing his “An Another Fing” tour to the city, English comedian Micky Flanagan is truly at the top of his game this year, selling out in Ireland and performing at the Edinburgh Fringe. A working class boy, making it big, Micky has risen to the very top of the comedian world and has been nominated for the Best Breakthrough Act at the British Comedy Awards, as well as performing on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and Live At The Apollo. So, if you fancy a big night out filled with laugh out loud moments, be sure to get tickets quick.

What: Liverpool Brazilica

Where: Starting at Abercromby Square at 8pm

From Friday the 14th of July to Sunday the 16th, Liverpool will be the main stage for Brazilica, a Liverpool festival celebrating the art, culture, food and passion for all things Brazilian. Kicking off at Abercromby Square at 8pm, thousands of people will line the streets of Liverpool and watch a parade of carnival dancers as they samba their way through the city to live music, followed by a possession of local Brazilian groups, displaying Brazilian art and culture at its finest. Expect loud music, dancing and an energetic atmosphere throughout Liverpool city-centre.

On Saturday the 15th of July, head to Liverpool’s Pierhead for a great line up of DJ’s and bands who will be entertaining the crowds all day long at the Liverpool Pierhead Village. Bixiga 70, a Brazilian band who have travelled all the way from Sao Paulo, will be joining Brazilica to perform live this year after performing at Glastonbury during their 2017 European tour- so make it your mission to come and check them out!

On Saturday the 15th of July, punk pop favourites Blink-182 will be live at the Liverpool Echo Arena, as part of their huge UK tour in July 2017. On Thursday the 20th of July to Sunday the 23rd, Sefton Park will be taken over by Liverpool’s International Music Festival. Celebrating it’s 5th birthday, the LIMF is bringing yet another incredible line-up to give you 4 days of pure entertainment in Sefton Park. The theme for the event this year is- Remember The Times- which will showcase pivotal music moments throughout history, leading the way for genres such as house, pop and hip-hop. At the end of July, Liverpool will stand together as we celebrate equality and love with Liverpool Pride, as we help to combat homophobia and trans*phobia across the region and beyond. With the charity’s core values at heart, Free, Inclusive and Visible, Liverpool will come together with nothing but love. Much loved girl band Atomic Kitten will be headlining Liverpool Pride this year, with this year’s theme being International Love.

Liverpool Pride will lead a march through the city, celebrating International Love, honouring all that has been achieved so far and all that is still to be done, globally. The charity wants to show the world how Liverpool is standing tall with their International counterparts by showing complete solidarity with LGBT+ communities fighting for equality and tolerance for LGBT+ people around the globe.
