Authentic Nepalese in Liverpool

The best Indian restaurants in Liverpool needs to include Saffron, just outside of Liverpool City Centre. With a clever mix of authentic Nepalese flavour and our favourite Indian dishes, Saffron in Liverpool will give you a hit of mouth-watering freshly cooked Indian food, that will leave you begging for more.

We all like to explore the new Liverpool restaurants that are popping up around Liverpool One, the Albert Dock and in the city centre, but we’ve found a fabulous place that we believe is going to blow your mind.

If you’re looking to eat out in Liverpool this weekend, we would strongly recommend Saffron.

Liverpool’s Best Nepalese Restaurant Saffron in Liverpool

A much-loved family run Indian restaurant, Saffron is what we class as a “Liverpool Best Kept Secret”. Hidden among the streets of Waterloo, just a short car journey from Liverpool city centre, Saffron is not aesthetically pleasing on the eye as you arrive outside, we have to tell you- but honestly, do not….yes we mean do not- turn away. You will be shocked at how delicious and freshly prepared the food is.

Offering a delicious blend of Indian and Nepalese food, Saffron in Waterloo, is a traditional and unique Indian and Nepalese dining experience that you’re going to love. The restaurant has been recommended highly on both Trip Advisor and Sugarvine, the nation’s local dining guide and we can see why, but what we noticed just as much as the food, was their customer service. The front of house team could not do enough for us and were extremely polite and welcoming as soon as we arrived and as you can imagine this makes a huge difference to your overall experience of dining out in Liverpool.

On arrival, and since we were pretty hungry, we decided to order a couple of starters.  We ordered a line of truly delicious dips, featuring a hearty mango chutney and my personal favourite, a spicy finely cut cucumber dip, ideal for spooning lovingly onto a poppadom or two and enjoying in a quick mouthful. After the starters, we waiting in complete anticipation for our main course.

As with a number of Indian restaurants in Liverpool, we ordered a mango lassi while we waiting for our main course, which is a rooky mistake as you suddenly become very full and satisfied, yet you’re only half way through the meal.

Shortly after our main courses arrives and we were definitely satisfied with the dishes. From an aromatic spicy curry with a side of jasmine rice to a beautifully rich and creamy chicken curry served on an authentic tray, kept warm by a tiny tea light underneath.

Saffron Indian and Nepalese

This is what we’re talking about folks. You can almost taste the family’s passion for traditional and authentic Nepalese and Indian food and cooking in each and every mouthful. We took our time and we enjoyed every last bit of the mains. With very reasonable prices, we will be booking another table at Saffron in Liverpool very soon. If you’re a bit of a curry enthusiast or fancy yourself as a Liverpool foodie, you’re going to need to cancel all of your plans for this weekend right now and book a table at Saffron in Liverpool. Remember to tell them that Unlock Liverpool has sent you when you arrive.
