Join us on Wednesday 21st March 2018, to celebrate the home entertainment release of BAFTA-nominated Film Stars Don’t Die In Liverpool at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, Hope Street, Liverpool -for an exclusive, special event.
With a drinks reception from 6pm, guests will enjoy the beautiful drama from 7:30pm, followed by a Q&A with author and subject of the film, Peter Turner.
Peter Turner, the subject of the film and author of the memoir on which it is based, will make a guest appearance at a post-screening Q&A, to answer questions on his relationship with eccentric Hollywood star Gloria Grahame, and how his fascinating story made it onto the big screen. The event will also include a one of a kind film props and costume exhibition, which will feature some of the most dazzling outfits that Annette Bening wore in the film whilst playing Hollywood superstar Gloria Grahame.
Featuring BAFTA-nominated performances from stars Jamie Bell and Annette Bening, the films follows eccentric Hollywood legend Gloria Grahame (Bening) and struggling young actor Peter Turner (Bell) who meet and embark on an intense romance in the late 1970s. Years later, in 1981, the onset of illness leads Grahame to reach out to her former flame. When she moves to Liverpool to stay with Turner and his family, the pair’s memories of their vibrant, whirlwind courtship come flooding back.
