The Bastion Liverpool

If you’re looking for the perfect place to stay while visiting Liverpool, I’m sure you’ve already come across the Shankly Hotel. If you’re a fan of the beautiful game, this restaurant offers a treat for the eyes, with it’s very own Bill Shankly museum within the restaurant. A fantastic opportunity to reminisce about your fondest football memories, The Bastion has a sophisticated vibe which was the perfect setting for the fine dining experience we were about to be treated to. Unlock Liverpool were invited to sample The Bastion Bar & Restaurant’s new menu, which has been inspired by seasonal quintessentially British dishes.

To start we ordered Wild Mushroom Hache with homemade brioche, scorched cauliflower, duck egg yolk and Baked Kidderton Ash goat’s cheese Handmade at Butlers Raven’s Oak with red wine onion jam, walnut praline & focaccia crisps. Served beautifully, each mouthful was perfectly seasoned.

For the main course we both were tempted by the grass-fed sirloin steak cooked medium rare. This dish came with fries, but we also ordered a couple of sides.

Dessert was a deconstructed cheesecake which was a delicious and light dessert and the perfect end to the meal.
