East Asian Hawker food served in small bowls, Tiger Rock Hawker have now opened their second restaurant on North John Street in Liverpool. A couple of steps away from Liverpool One, the new site mirrors the original restaurant on Smithdown Road. With a larger bar area for specialty cocktails and drinks, the new restaurant has a cosy feel and makes for an escape from the hustle and bustle of Liverpool One. With a fruit infused sparkling cocktail on arrival, we were welcomed by the team and invited to enjoy a number of samples of their new menu.
The restaurant quickly became busy, with press, media and bloggers all snapping away to get the right angle of the beautiful new location. Tiger Rock Hawker has a sophisticated relaxed atmosphere perfect for a couple of light bites after work. The low lighting creates a relaxing vibe which lends itself well to early evening drinks and you’ll be spoilt for choice with Pomegranate Elderflower, Limoncello Raspberry and Rose Gin Bellinis featured on the drinks menu.
We tried a couple of Satay Ayam BBQ chicken skewers during the launch of the new restaurant but what really caught our eye on the menu was the Yam Mamuang salad which is said to include fresh mango and a zesty hot Thai dressing, so we may return to taste this very soon…and perhaps the apple spring rolls and ice cream, since it is apple season after all.
