OK, so we might be telling a little white lie here… it’s not actually based in Liverpool, but it’s not far and SO worth the drive!
Morning, Noon Night in Neston is about 30 minutes’ drive from Liverpool city-centre, through the beautiful countryside, and is the sister business to The Cow&Co Cafe in Liverpool city centre. They have recently launched a brand new and delicious evening menu, with head Chef James Dodd at the helm, who has joined the team, from the award-winning Riverford Field Kitchen in Devon.
With locally-sourced, organic ingredients wherever possible, the menu is an eclectic mix of flavours and high-quality ingredients. The menu itself will change constantly as we move from season to season and highlights may include Cod with crushed celeriac, wild garlic and purple sprouting broccoli or duck leg with cider-picked rhubarb, lentils and wild garlic.
The restaurant which launched in November 2017, is located in Neston, which we can only describe as a sleepy town that has a quintessentially Old English vibe. Inside, the decor features shabby chic tables and chairs with beautiful botanic decoration and a fresh display of cakes and pastries. As a dog-friendly restaurant, the staff welcomed in couples with small dogs and treated them to a biscuit and fresh water, which was lovely to see. You can quickly forget you’re in Neston as it feels very similar to the Lake District.
We choose to sit in the window seat, prime location for people watching. The brunch menu is small but all good things come in small packages, as the saying goes!
We ordered French toast with fresh berries, rhubarb and toasted pistachios with a helping of Greek yogurt and the Moroccan bowl with salmon. As you can see, the dishes were beautifully presented and full of colour.
The quality of both dishes was exceptional. If you enjoy unusual flavour combinations and quality food, Morning Noon Night is a must.
After this, we couldn’t resist the cake selection, so we ordered a cappuccino, black coffee and slice of the lemon and poppy seed cake, and Mandarin orange cake. Beautiful.
The beauty of Morning Noon Night is that is has a cool and relaxed vibe that instantly helps you to relax and focus on the food. Each mouthful is truly delicious. The staff are energetic and very friendly, offering their personal recommendations on the pastries and cakes.
Whether you’re passing through, on the way to Wales for a weekend break, or you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Liverpool city-centre, make sure to pop by for a bite to eat. You certainly won’t regret it. Remember, if you do pop by, be sure to let them know that Unlock Liverpool sent you! We want to thank the team at Morning Noon Night for inviting us to sample their delicious brunch menu. We were so impressed with the flavour combinations in each dish. We’ll be dropping by with our little pup soon, so keep those dog biscuits to hand!
