Yee Rah Liverpool Restaurant Review

Liverpool One has absolutely changed the game for city centre dining, from franchises to indie brands there’s something for everyone. I recently tried out a little piece of affordable luxury, when I was wined and dined at Yee Rah Wok & Grill.

With 2 for 1 on classic cocktails 6 days a week, this primarily Asian eatery is well worth a visit if only for a drink. There are floor to ceiling glass views that overlook Chavasse Park and Liverpool One, with a little garden outside to enjoy your visit when the sun shines. I only tried two cocktails off the menu, but would 100% recommend them both, especially the naughty but nice Bubblegum Sour. If you’re a lover of Coca Cola, a Long Island Ice Tea will suit you to, too a tee!

That being said, it would be a travesty if you were to visit Yee Rah and not make the most of their delicious dishes, there’s a portion of the menu dedicated to small servings if you wanted to sample a few little items. I really enjoyed the prawn crackers as we browsed the menu for our main, it came served with the loveliest sweet chilli dip on the side.

I was out with a fussy foodie who braved the *drum roll* Fish and Chips, whilst I opted for the Papaya Salad with Halloumi Skewers, of course I had to have a side of carbs too so I went with the Onion Rings and some fries. Being the best foodie blogger that I can, I sampled both our dishes! I really enjoyed the fish, it was soft and flavoursome inside, while the homemade beer batter was perfectly crunchy and not too oily, which can sometimes be a problem with this traditional dish.

My Papaya Salad consisted of shredded papaya, carrots, cherry tomatoes and fine beans, this is usually served dressed in a combination of lime juice, garlic, fish sauce, peanuts, chilli and palm sugar. I asked for my dressing to be served without peanuts or chilli, which it was without a problem. Even minus these two ingredients, the salad was still really full of flavour, I particularly enjoyed the variety of textures in the dish, and was surprised by how filling it was. The halloumi skewers complimented the salad perfectly – the portion size was just enough. There is an option to have this salad alone, or with chicken too.

You know I didn’t leave without sampling a dessert right! My absolute go to desert is the chocolate cake, at Yee Rah I made no exception. I was not disappointed at all, a huge slice of warm cake came served to me on a giant glass dish with cream, ice cream and mixed berries. the portion size was more than big enough for two (in fact we struggled to finish it!).

If you’re looking for all of this, plus the friendliest most helpful service with a smile, visit Yee Rah. This is the perfect venue for all your occasions, cocktails, a date or a dinner out with the family the staff will be more than happy to help you enjoy your visit.
